Dr. Soh Woon Gan
Woon Gan is a managing director of Internal Audit Asia Pacific at BNP Paribas. She graduated as an accountant from the National University of Singapore, and with a MBA from Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, UK. Woon Gan went on to complete a DBA programme with University of Liverpool, undertaking an action research inquiry on improving the effectiveness of internal audit’s governance role in conduct risk management in global markets activities.
Oscillating between her professional competencies and her church ministries, Woon Gan synergistically integrates relevant skillsets to enhance value to both areas. Coupled with her extensive management skills, Woon Gan extends her learning on cross-cultural missions from Asian Pastoral Institute’s MA (Pastoral Studies) to effectively lead a regional team of many professional auditors located in Asia Pacific to conduct audit and investigation assignments, including an extensive involvement in the Asia Pacific part of the global investigations on the manipulation of benchmark rates by international financial institutions.
Woon Gan materializes her discipleship and leadership development training in church and from MA (Pastoral Studies) to make disciples and develop leaders. This people development experience has well-positioned Woon Gan in her organization role as a mentor for career progression, talent development and retention.
As a change enabler, Woon Gan has delivered change programs and initiatives of various scales. She has been the co-responsible for setting up an Asia Pacific audit platform from its infancy to one that supports evolving regional business organizations and matrix reporting. In her church, Woon Gan’s initiative to organize The Song Writing Competition in 2010 in Charis Tabernacle has grown into The Tabernacle Church’s annual event for the past decade, yielding about one hundred song compositions available for use in our praise and worship services.
