Sandra was first trained in Chemistry. She worked as a laboratory technician in a chemical firm before joining full time ministry with The Tabernacle Church and Missions to serve in the music ministry. To better equip herself, Sandra read a Master of Church Music (Music Ministry) and a Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies. She is also trained in singing (ATCL), piano (ATCL) and electone. Beyond the music ministry, Sandra went on to equip herself in counselling. In 2020, Sandra graduated with a Master of Arts in Counselling and Community Work with the Asian Pastoral Institute. 

Sandra teaches the Music Theory / Voice modules in Asian Pastoral Institute. These modules focus on music theory, basic keyboard, guitar, songwriting and choir skills. Her experience also includes adult and children choral training, individual voice training, worship leading and keyboard playing. She also serves as an Assistant Pastor in the dialect (Hokkien and Cantonese) congregation in Shekinah Tabernacle.

Sandra works with church leadership and members to grow a culture of song writing in the praise and worship genre. She also helps to grow a Tabernacle song library that has 115 songs of date and facilitates in the editing and translation work of these songs.
