Chua Sharon

Sharon Chua is Lecturer and Director of the Adult Christian Education (ACE) at the Asian Pastoral Institute, Singapore. She read a Bachelor of Arts (History and Southeast Asian Studies) and a Master of Arts in Southeast Asian Studies from the National University of Singapore. For her theological training, Sharon read a Master of Arts (Biblical Studies) from the East Asia School of Theology, and a Master of Theology (Asian Christianity) from Trinity Theological College, Singapore.

Sharon teaches mainly in the area of missions and regional country studies with a focus on Southeast Asia and East Asia. She is an advocate of Asian Christianity. Her research interests include Asian Church and mission history, Church-State relations, inter-religious studies and contextualisation in cross-cultural ministries.

As Director of ACE, she spearheaded its curriculum development under the mentoring of Senior Pastor Dr. David J. Seah. She is a firm believer in life-long and inter-generational learning, in that ACE can build the capacity and capability of the Church.

Sharon also serves as a Pastor with the Tabernacle Church & Missions. She engages in cross-cultural ministry, ministering mainly among the Chinese and Vietnamese residing in Singapore. Together with her two children, they regularly visit the mission work in Chiang Mai, Thailand where her husband is serving as a mission pastor.
