2023
2023 sets new milestones. The International Registry of Counselor Education Programs (IRCEP) added all three of API counselling programmes to their international listing:
- Graduate Diploma in Counselling
- Master of Arts in Counselling and Community Work
- Doctorate in Counselling
IRCEP is an international affiliate of the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
API alumni participated in Project X-CITE that reaches out to youths in the community.
2022
2022 marks many milestones.
The Singapore Association for Counselling recognised the Master of Arts in Counselling & Community Work Programme.
The April admission saw the first cohort of the Graduate Diploma in Counselling Programme, and the second cohort of the Master of Arts in Counselling and Community Work Programme. The first two international students enrolled in the September admission.
A&A Works @ Asian Pastoral Institute were completed in 2022. Asian Pastoral Institute moved into its new campus in July 2022. This is a four-minute walk from Aljunied MRT station.
API hosted the inaugural API-Fuller Seminary Seminar Series on 8 October 2022 at Asian Pastoral Institute campus.
2021
The Asia Theological Association accredited eight programmes in Pastoral Studies and Counselling and Community Work.
The Doctorate in Counselling Programme admitted its first cohort in September 2021.
Additions & Alterations (A&A) Works @ Asian Pastoral Institute commenced in Jan 2021.
2020
The Master of Divinity Programme took in its first cohort of full-time students in January 2020.
Elite Building @20 Aljunied Road was renamed as Asian Pastoral Institute in February 2020.
2019
The Additions and Alterations (A&A) Project @20 Aljunied Road commenced.
2018
The Master of Arts in Counselling and Community Work Programme took in its first cohort in April 2018.
API Care and Counselling, API’s community outreach arm, was established to offer a range of counselling services, training and development workshops, and fund-raising activities to help build resilience and sustainability in communities.
Planning for the Additions and Alterations (A&A) Project @20 Aljunied Road commenced.
2017
The property @20 Aljunied Road, known as Elite Building, was acquired to be the future API campus.
2015
API was accredited by the Asia Theological Association to offer the Certificate in Pastoral Studies, Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Studies, and the Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies.
2012
Adult Christian Education was launched as a structured modular education programme to equip participants for faithful Christian living and ministry. Courses were introduced and first offered at The Tabernacle Church & Missions’ affiliated churches in Singapore.
2007
API faculty members undertake to publish in the June 2007 issue of the Journal of Asian Evangelical Theology.
2006
The Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Studies was launched.
2004
The Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies was launched.
2003
The Advanced Diploma in Pastoral Studies was launched.
2001
The Advanced Graduate Diploma, Diploma and Certificate in Pastoral Studies were launched to encourage individuals of varied education levels to advance in their ministry journeys and achieve the next milestones in their personal spiritual growth.
1999
The Tabernacle Church & Missions inaugurated Asian Pastoral Institute as a training school with a cross-disciplinary and Asian spirituality perspective. The Graduate Diploma in Pastoral Studies was the first programme offered by API.
